After 4,5 years in business and doubting whether my chosen path was still right for me,
it suddenly hit me…

I asked myself; In what periods of business do I feel my best? When do I experience most flow? When do the hours fly by? I realized that I always felt my best when I was in “creation-mode”. When I am in the creative process of bringing ideas to fruition, whether working on my own ideas or helping others turn their vision into a reality, that is when I truly turn ON!

I'm an 28-year-old entrepreneur and designer based in Amsterdam. Besides creating, I'm extremely passionate about travel, personal development, spirituality, entrepreneurship.

From a very young age, I knew I wanted to become my own boss. The idea of building something from the ground up and making a significant impact has always fascinated me. I was always this guy with crazy goals and dreams, that many people would joke about if I shared them.

At a young age, I discovered that achieving my big goals and dreams would require a significant amount of personal development. I realized that in order to make my aspirations a reality, I would have to become the kind of person capable of achieving them.

Because of that, I began to immerse myself in self-improvement by reading books, listening to podcasts, attending seminars, and surrounding myself with like-minded individuals.

My journey of personal growth has definitely made a significant impact on me as a person, from a party-loving sorority guy to someone who prefers a quiet night with a good book, an early bedtime, and a 6am alarm clock. Some may view my choices and actions as those of an "old grandpa". Luckily, I don’t care.😉

My first business

My passion for personal development also led to start my first business. In 2018, I started Worthy Tweaks with a friend. It’s a business that is specialized in helping people to improve their daily habits through guided journals and personal guidance. I really immersed myself in the world of habit and behavior change because I realized that I was learning a lot from my personal development, but that consistently implementing all this knowledge was another ballgame.

As a passion project and also to “scratch my own itch”, I created a guided journal together with my business partner. It was the birth of ‘The 30 Day Challenge Journal”; a practical and research-based journal that guides people through a 30 day challenge of their choosing. A challenge in which people experiment with one new habit, to see if they want to make it a part of their lifestyle or not. This journal was the basis for a series of challenge journals, and with the support of others, I eventually created a total of 22 challenge journals, which are still available for purchase.

With Worthy Tweaks, I have gained a diverse range of skills and experiences, including creating habit journals, managing teams, providing habit coaching, building and running a webshop, selling journal licenses, giving workshops, leading mastermind sessions, web design, and more. After having a taste of all these different activities, I’m happy to have now found that the creative activities are the one I most enjoy doing.

Web design has become my creative focus because I really like the endless possibilities for creative expression, while also being very functional and impactful. I also really like creating websites that are immersive digital experiences, rather than just pages of information. I know I’m great at listening and observing what entrepreneurs like, and are great at translating their ideas and visions into a website.

As entrepreneurs, our businesses are like our own children, and it brings me immense satisfaction to see the positive reactions and pride that entrepreneurs have for the websites I've created for them, it's a truly rewarding experience. It’s like watching a proud parent looking at a quality performance of their child. It goes deep.

The entrepreneurial roller coaster

Though I generally really enjoyed my entrepreneurial journey so far, I also definitely experienced the entrepreneurial challenges.

How do I get the attention from prospects? How am I taken more serious and seen as an authority figure? How do I make them recognize the value I have to offer?

These questions were and still are running through my head a lot, because it definitely isn’t always easy to do these things.

Now, knowing what founders go through, it gives me great satisfaction and fulfillment to realize that I can help them on their entrepreneurial journey. I know there are so many amazing idea’s out there, ready to change the world. I also know a lot of great ideas never truly get off the ground. It’s feels amazing to be able to play a part in getting great ideas into the world in an impactful way.
